Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Are you a Cloud Engineer who enjoys building highly reliable systems and reducing operational overhead through automation?
We’re working with a high-growth, global technology organisation to hire a Cloud Engineer (SRE focus). This is a key role focused on improving platform reliability, scalability, and performance within a modern AWS environment.
The Role:
You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering and operations, embedding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles across a large-scale cloud platform.
Key focus areas include:
- Defining and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets
- Driving automation to eliminate repetitive operational tasks
- Building self-service infrastructure for development teams
- Enhancing observability, monitoring, and incident response
- Improving system reliability and performance at scale
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and manage scalable, fault-tolerant AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
- Implement and enhance observability solutions (e.g. Datadog, Splunk, etc.)
- Monitor performance, availability, and cost efficiency across cloud environments
- Lead incident response and drive continuous improvement in system resilience
- Ensure strong security and compliance practices across AWS environments
- Contribute to capacity planning and performance optimisation
What You’ll Bring
- 5 years’ experience in Cloud/DevOps/SRE roles (AWS-focused)
- Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, ECS, RDS, IAM)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Solid understanding of observability and monitoring tools
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is beneficial
Nice to have:
- Experience building self-service infrastructure platforms
- Exposure to security tooling (e.g. Snyk, Wiz)
- Interest in emerging technologies (including AI adoption)
