About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Strategic Delivery, this position provides dedicated focus to manage portfolio-specific product ownership across Auto & Personal Loans or Property & Mortgage products. As the business expands across New Zealand and Australia, you will shape product propositions, define portfolio strategy, and manage the end-to-end product lifecycle to support sustainable delivery and customer retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a clear product strategy and roadmap aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle—from concept and design through launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Identify customer, introducer, and market opportunities to define portfolio priorities and shape strong product propositions.
  • Work cross-functionally with technology, operations, distribution, risk, and compliance teams to translate roadmap priorities into executable initiatives.
  • Make pragmatic trade-off decisions balancing customer outcomes, commercial performance, regulatory requirements, and delivery constraints.
  • Utilize customer insights, adviser feedback, and performance data to continuously enhance product offerings.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, escalating appropriately to maintain momentum.
  • Ensure strict adherence to compliance standards, legal requirements, and internal risk management frameworks (three lines of defence)

Key Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of lending products and concepts within the New Zealand market.
  • 5 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or product delivery within financial services (preferably with exposure to Auto, Personal Loans, Mortgages, or Property products).
  • Demonstrated capability in translating broader business strategy into practical, executable roadmap priorities.
  • Solid commercial acumen with experience using data and operational feedback to inform product strategy.
  • Proven capability in managing competing portfolio priorities and making pragmatic decisions to keep pace.
  • Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
  • An understanding of the Australian lending market is highly advantageous.
