About the opportunity

An established professional services firm is looking for a Senior Auditor to join its growing Christchurch team.
You will manage external audit engagements from planning through to completion, work directly with clients and support the development of junior team members. This opportunity offers broad industry exposure, increasing responsibility and a clear pathway for continued professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and complete external audit engagements
• Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, processes and financial reporting systems
• Assess internal controls and identify potential risks or areas for improvement
• Prepare and review audit documentation and financial statements
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients
• Supervise, coach and support junior auditors
• Manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines
• Ensure work complies with relevant professional and regulatory standards

About you

• At least three years of external audit experience
• Strong knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards
• CA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification, or progress toward one
• Experience managing audit engagements from planning to completion
• Confidence supervising and supporting junior team members
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build relationships with clients from a range of backgrounds
• Additional language capabilities may be advantageous
