Bluecurrent (formerly Vector Metering) was formed in 2023 following a collaboration between Vector and QIC. Despite their newness, they boast over 15 years of experience, setting ambitious goals on a solid foundation. Bluecurrent is at the forefront of upgrading traditional metering to digital systems as the growing need for accurate data from various sectors is pushing the demand for more advanced metering services. Specialising in B2B operations, Bluecurrent works with prominent energy retailers and distributors in NZ and Australia.
The Role
In this role, you will aim to gain insights into Bluecurrent’s markets, foster strong connections with both current and prospective clients to really understand their business, and be the “voice of the customer”, championing the customers’ interests in the planning, prioritisation, and delivery process. This role can be located in either the Auckland or Wellington offices, but also spending time with Bluecurrent’s clients around New Zealand.
Key responsibilities include;
- Partnership Approach - Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients
- Voice of the Customer - Understanding and advocating for the customer in service planning and innovation, maintaining quality of service and delivery
- Proactivity - Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services to existing clients
- KPI Management - Monitor account performance, analyse data, and prepare regular reports to track progress toward revenue targets
- Industry Expert - Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Proven track record of success in a customer-facing role, preferably within the energy/utilities sector
- Thorough understanding of commercial operations, policies, and procedures within a publicly traded company, along with established connections in the commercial sector
- Proven experience in effectively managing stakeholders across all levels
- Proficiency in relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation
- Strong focus on commercial and strategic aspects.
