About the Role
Lead the growth, strategic sourcing, and commercial execution for a primary timber category portfolio. Reporting to the Procurement Lead, you will drive category profitability, negotiate market-leading trade agreements, and partner closely with supply chain networks. 

Key Responsibilities

• Drive timber category expansion through data-led commercial sourcing strategies.
• Negotiate competitive supply agreements leveraging national group purchasing power.
• Build high-performing partnerships across timber manufacturers and supply merchants.
• Analyse margin insights to identify competitive regional pricing opportunities.
• Direct Assistant Procurement Manager to build internal capability and succession.

So Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?

• Deep expertise in timber trade, building supplies, or construction merchant channels.
• Proven background in strategic category management, procurement, or trade sourcing.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements with major suppliers.
• Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or formal negotiation certification.
• Collaborative communicator skilled at engaging diverse merchant and executive networks.

You will likely (on average) be in the office 2 days a week, travelling 2 days a week and WFM 1 day. It is key that you build strong relationships with the timber mills and their branch network.
