About the Company:

We are partnering with an innovative and growing New Zealand owned professional services firm, searching for a Practice Manager to help drive operational success. Headquartered in Takapuna, and with branches nationwide, they deliver a diverse range of projects across both the public and private sectors. About the Role:
  
As Practice Manager, you’ll be the operational backbone of the business, ensuring people, projects, and processes work seamlessly together to deliver exceptional outcomes. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll drive operational excellence, support business growth, and create an environment where technical teams can thrive and focus on what they do best.

Key duties:

  • End-to-End Operational Leadership: Oversee cross-functional workflows, project administration, and multi-office facilities to ensure seamless delivery and team alignment.
  • Financial & Risk Governance: Lead cash flow management, budgeting, invoicing controls, and risk/compliance obligations while managing external fractional CFO relationships.
  • People & HR Oversight: Drive recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, L&D frameworks, and direct mentorship/leadership coaching for team managers and staff.
  • IT Strategy & AI Integration: Manage external IT vendors, system performance, and company-wide adoption, training, and rollout of AI tools.
  • Strategic Initiatives & Reporting: Lead cross-functional company projects (e.g., system integrations, vendor transitions), coordinate marketing efforts, and deliver consistent operational and financial reporting to executive leadership.

  • Experienced practice or operational leader from a professional services type environment.
  • Strong financial acumen spanning reporting, cash management, and commercial controls
  • Proficient with modern ERP systems and process automation tools.
  • A clear and confident communicator who is capable of influencing diverse technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker who is skilled in driving change, managing risk, and leading teams.
