Assistant Accountant (Contract)

The New Zealand office is based in Takapuna, offering a flexible hybrid working environment.

About the Role

This six month contract is a full time role. Working closely with the CFO and Finance Manager, you’ll support the global finance team across core accounting, reporting and ad-hoc work You’ll gain exposure to multiple entities and work closely with senior leadership, making this a strong opportunity for someone building their accounting career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable, including supplier reconciliations and payments
• Prepare financials to trial balance for three entities
• Complete general ledger reconciliations
• Maintain short-term cashflow forecasts
• Support tax returns, audit requirements and ad hoc reporting

So Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Working towards qualification  (CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA) preferred
• Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with international businesses would be a huge benefit
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Comfortable working with new systems and technology
• Proactive, reliable and able to work independently
• Positive communicator who enjoys both office and remote work
