Celebrating B Corp Month at Consult
March is B Corp Month and for us at Consult, that means celebrating being two years into our B Corp journey (heading into our third year next month in April)!
We’re incredibly proud to be one of only 2 recruitment companies in New Zealand to be B Corp certified. But more than that, we’re proud of what it represents: a commitment to doing business in a better way.
If you’re not familiar with B Corp, this is a great time to learn more about the movement – and why so many businesses around the world are choosing to be measured not just by profit, but by purpose.
What does being a B Corp actually mean?
B Corp certification is a rigorous assessment across governance, people, community, environment and customers. It requires ongoing effort, tangible progress, and transparent measurement. And it requires us to keep improving.
Not every business can become a B Corp. It takes numerous actions, real accountability and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.
Some of the B Lab standards reflect how we’ve always aimed to operate. Others challenge us to lift the bar even further. And honestly, that’s exactly why we value it.
As a B Corp, we’re on a mission to set new standards for being a responsible, community focused recruitment partner. We’ve always believed that the success of a business depends on the quality of their people. That’s why our goal is to ensure that every partnership and placement we make is a step towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
As proud members of the B Corp community, we’re committed to continuing to improve how we do business (not just in what we do, but in how we do it) and driving positive change for our people, our community and the environment.
The ripple effects of recruitment
At Consult, we often say “we’re nothing without great people.” This includes our employees, clients, candidates, partners and communities we work with. That belief shapes how we show up every day from how we recruit and who we work with, to the way we build teams and better workplaces that strengthen businesses and communities.
To us, recruitment is never ‘just filling roles’. To us, we know that every placement can influence someone’s career path, shape a workplace culture and contribute to the wider community. That responsibility matters to us.
Being part of the B Corp community encourages us to continue looking beyond short-term outcomes and think long-term. It’s reflected in our commitment to creating workplaces where people thrive, partnering with organisations aligned to strong values, and contributing positively to the communities we’re part of.
As a B Corp, we’re committed to using business as a force for good. One of the ways we do this is by running free events year round to create space for connection, networking, growth and helping people at every stage of their career journey. Supporting our community is something we’re incredibly proud of.
A global movement and a local commitment
There are now over 10,000 Certified B Corps globally and more than a million workers all united by B Corp values and the belief that business can be a force for good. And we are proud to stand alongside them.
While this is a global movement, the impact is local. For us, that means supporting New Zealand businesses, connecting great people with great organisations, and contributing positively to the communities we’re part of.
This B Corp Month, we’ve taken the opportunity to reflect, share, and celebrate the progress we’ve made so far. Most importantly, we’re celebrating our people – the ones who inspire us to keep improving and who we simply wouldn’t be here without.
We’re stepping into year 3 as a Certified B Corp, and the work never stops when it comes to doing business in a better way. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more committed to continuing to raise the standard.
