Senior Consultant – Internal Audit & Risk | Wellington



About the role
You’ll contribute to internal audit and risk engagements from planning through to reporting, working closely with colleagues and clients to identify issues and develop practical recommendations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the planning and delivery of internal audit, risk management and process improvement assignments.
• Assessing business risks and developing relevant audit procedures.
• Reviewing internal controls, governance processes and compliance with organisational policies.
• Analysing data to identify trends, investigate issues and support findings.
• Contributing to procurement and project-related reviews.
• Preparing clear reports that explain findings and recommend improvements.
• Building effective client relationships and managing work to agreed deadlines.

About you
You’re curious, analytical and comfortable asking questions to understand how organisations operate. You can translate your findings into clear, practical advice and enjoy working collaboratively.
You’ll bring:

• Experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management or procurement.
• A relevant degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• An understanding of risk management, internal controls and audit methodology.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Confidence using Excel and other tools to analyse information.

A CA, CPA or CIA qualification would be an advantage, as would experience with Power BI, Tableau or data modelling.
