About the Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant plays a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across the group’s corporate functions.

You’ll prepare month-end results, provide performance insights, support audits, and contribute to ongoing financial improvement projects. It’s a diverse, hands-on role with visibility across the business and regular interaction with senior leaders.

This is an ideal first move into industry for a Big 4 or large-tier qualified accountant who’s ready to take ownership, broaden their skill set, and gain exposure in a listed corporate environment. The team have a proven track record of providing progression opportunities within the team. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare month-end journals, P&L reviews, and financial performance reports.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting across multiple business units.
  • Liaise with external auditors during the year-end audit process.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and assist with lease and inventory accounting (IFRS 16).
  • Partner with operational teams on cost analysis, SaaS accounting, and capex reporting.
  • Contribute to financial process improvement projects and systems development.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and insights for the CFO and senior management team.

About You


You’ll be a CA-qualified (or equivalent) accountant, ideally trained in a Big 4 or large mid-tier firm, and looking to make your first move into a dynamic commercial environment.

You’re analytical, detail-focused, and commercially curious — the kind of person who enjoys getting into the numbers but also understanding the “why” behind them. You’ll be confident communicating across teams and comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

You’ll bring:
  • 3 years’ accounting or audit experience.
  • Strong understanding of NZ IFRS and tax principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills and good systems capability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ideally based in South or East Auckland for an easy commute! Parking onsight.
