This insurer is in the middle of an important transformation within its finance team. Known for its flexibility and focus on delivering continuous improvement they have a great team in place but require help during a busy period.
About the Role
This contract role is all about helping roll out a new insurance accounting system. You’ll be hands-on with the project and key to making sure it lands well across the business. It’s a great mix of system work, process improvement, and core finance tasks—perfect if you enjoy variety and want to be part of meaningful change.
A strong technical financial/group accountant who has been around systems implementations and is keen to get more involved could work as could a strong systems accountant with Financial Services exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Help deliver the new insurance accounting system
- Carry out testing and help spot and solve system issues
- Keep processes tidy and provide input to make things better
- Support the wider finance team post go-live as things bed in
- Make sure accounting, reporting and controls run smoothly day to day
- CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Experience in insurance or financial accounting roles
- Some exposure to system or process change work is a real bonus
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards and controls
- Comfortable with systems and confident using Excel
- A clear communicator who can work with different teams
- Someone who’s flexible, hands-on, and happy to muck in where needed
- Enjoys working through change and solving problems
Whats on offer?
- An initial six month role
- Hourly rate for an independant contractor between $80-100 GST per hour depending on experience
- Role is based in central Auckland
