This is a well-established, New Zealand-owned business with deep roots and a strong reputation in their sector. The business is entering an exciting phase of growth, and backed by leadership that values efficiency, loyalty, and long-term thinking. They offer a grounded, collaborative environment where people stay long term, and where contributions are genuinely appreciated.
About the Role
This full-time, office-based role is a key support position to the Finance Manager, offering the opportunity to step into a trusted, second-in-command role. It’s well-suited to someone who enjoys being close to the operations and is keen to improve systems, streamline processes, and contribute to the company’s next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate and streamline the Accounts Payable function, transitioning away from manual Excel-based processes
- Reconcile supplier statements, prepare payment runs, and manage invoice workflows
- Own month-end duties including journals, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure general ledger accuracy
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes alongside the Finance & Admin Manager
- Build and maintain financial reports and dashboards to support commercial decision-making
- Provide cover and leadership support in the absence of the Finance Manager
You’re an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. You bring strong technical accounting knowledge, with confidence across payables, month-end, reconciliations, and reporting. You’re comfortable with systems (NetSuite experience is great but not essential), naturally proactive, and bring a sharp eye for improving processes. Most importantly, you’re someone who can be trusted to get things done, communicate clearly, and stay the course.
You’ll be joining a successful business where your contribution is seen and valued. Enjoy free parking or a public transport allowance, plus healthcare benefits that support your wellbeing. You’ll work alongside a supportive, down-to-earth finance leader in a role with real influence, where your experience will shape better systems and a more efficient future.
