Financial Accountant (Contract)



About the Company

This established business operates in a regulated environment and supports customers across New Zealand. The finance team is responsible for delivering accurate financial and regulatory reporting while working closely with stakeholders across the business including the FP&A team. You’ll be joining a small but collaborative team with an experienced manager and amazing views from the office!

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone looking to make their first move from audit into industry or with a strong financial accounting background as they are quickly coming up to year end.

The team is stable they just had one person moving onto a new role just as year end is coming up hence the need to move quickly to appoint a contract, they will longer term be needing a permanent Financial Accountant.

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to financial statements, regulatory reporting and audit processes within a commercial environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare interim and annual financial statements
• Liaise with external auditors during reporting cycles
• Complete regulatory and statutory financial reporting
• Analyse financial results and explain key variances
• Support month-end close and improve reporting processes

So Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?

• Qualified CA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent
• Background in audit with regulated industry exposure would be ideal
• Confident communicator with auditors and internal stakeholders
• Detail-focused with curiosity to improve processes

Benefits

• It will be an hourly rate initially so they can move quickly c.$50-60 GST per hour as an independant contractor depending on experience
