With over 15 years of recruitment experience – Richard has carved out a niche as one of NZ’s expert recruiters in marketing, sales and category roles, specifically in the FMCG and consumer industry. Most recently, he was the General Manager of NZ’s oldest and biggest specialist sales and marketing agency (until the Aussie parent company imploded – RIP). But – ever the guy with the silver lining – Rich realised it was an opportunity to join the Consult gang to lead the Sales & Marketing, HR and Business Support teams, so we are all winners!
Rich believes good business is all about working with people that you enjoy and value. He loves recruitment because he gets great satisfaction out of not only finding people great new roles, but also seeing businesses excel as a result of that talented individual.
Rich is a member of the Food and Grocery Council where he chairs the team on Diversity and Inclusion, as well as being a proud member of Diversity Works and volunteering at the Mental Health Foundation.
Outside the office, he’ll be on the tennis court or hanging at home with his husband and cat. He loves a good whiskey and spending time with the family either in his mighty hometown of Timaru or with his in-laws in Canada. A self confessed book nerd – he is always chasing a new Nordic crime drama (who knew?!) or a pretentious book he can suggest to his book club – if you have any recommendations – he is all ears!
