A Little Bit About The Firm
This is a practice that prides themselves in adding a personal approach to both developing client relationships and developing their staff.
Be rewarded for working hard and working smart. This is an environment where career progression doesn't come at the cost of work-life balance.
You get to work alongside people who practice what they preach! Working as a team is a core value so everyone pitches in with filing returns and putting together financials so that no one person in the team is pulling late hours, this includes Partners and Managers alike.
This is a chance to improve your leadership skills while also learning how to manage & grow your own client portfolio. If you want not only a path to partnership but also a supportive Leadership team that will work alongside you and develop you both technically and professionally, then you'll be hard pressed to find a better firm.
Some More Information About The Role
As a Senior BAS Manager, you'll be working closely alongside the Partners on a diverse range of clients, tapping into their years of knowledge & experience while making sure the work you do for clients is top-notch.
Yes, compliance work will play a part of your role and with a team of capable BAS Accountants below you; your day to day will involve conducting reviews and handling the higher level technical projects that will come through.
Additionally, you'll be exposed to a wide range of clients from day one, of all sizes and industries, so you could be jumping from a private business owners to large scale listed companies. Additionally, they believe in fully utilising software for the benefit of clients so to keep you at the top of your game you'll receive regular training in all the changes to Xero and in NZ legislation.
With loads of potential for career growth, this is a newly created role so you'll have the opportunity to truly make it your own.
So Who Are You, And What Is Your Profile?

You will ideally be CA/CPA qualified or with an equivalent overseas qualification - you will need to have prior experience managing a team within a professional accounting firm, preferably from a medium sized environment or larger.
At the Senior level, they expect you to have the capability to handle slightly curlier clients as well as mentoring staff through their own difficult situations. You'll be working very closely with Partners and clients so you need to be confident enough to hold your own and also know how to ask the right questions.
You could be someone in Practice right now with a family at home and absolutely sick of the long hours. This is great for you if you want to progress your career but also want to be able to have dinner at home on the weeknights.
What they can offer in return (other than the hugely sought after work-life balance) is a great remuneration package including CBD carpark as well as the chance to step up and be recognised for your ambition.
