NZ family business established in the 80's have been steadily growing and it's now time to pass the reigns on to the next generation. They are a close-knit culture with long staff tenure across the team. They import products globally and distribute to wholesalers and retailers across the country and are a trusted name within their field. 
  
A little bit about the role

This is an integral role to the growth and success of the business and will encompass everything from your daily reconciliations to assisting with strategic modeling for further growth, working with the Managing Director but with background support from external Accountants. No day will be the same, you will be constantly embracing and encouraging fluid change, and enjoy being a part of a growing SME. 

To be successful in joining this fun and engaged small team you will need to be someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, and help out when needed - if they are under the pump, this could include packing a box or two! But the majority of the time you will be responsible for;
  • Accounts payable & receivable
  • Reconciliations of banking, ledgers and balance sheet
  • Payroll for approx.20 staff
  • Preparation and filing of GST, FBT & PAYE
  • Monitoring budgets and cashflow
  • Monthly reporting, particularly around inventory
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset register
  • Liaising with external accountants regarding tax and year-end
  • Maintenance of various software programs, process improvements
  • Being generally awesome and taking on anything thrown your way
You’ll have the confidence and communication skills to walk around the business to collect or share the information needed to keep things moving. This is a really hands-on and flat structured environment, so you’ll be a part of a positive friendly team who know their industry well and aren't above pitching in on every aspect of business operations.
This is a part-time permanent role, approximately 25 hours a week with and we're very flexible as to what this can look like, and we hope you are too. 

So who are you and what is your profile
  
Ideally you will have experience with inventory, have worked in a full process role and able to actively improve processes and systems. An Accounting Degree is a must but not a Professional Accounting Qualification.

The hours for this role are negotiable for the right person and could grow over time. You must have a great sense of humour and the ability to build great relationships with a variety of people.

The role will likely sit around $60-65k pro rata
