A little bit about the role
Reporting directly to the Company Directors and Owners, this position effectively assumes full control of the finance function for both hotels in Auckland and Rotorua. This role will also lead and inspire a small finance team and help drive their growth and success within the business.
The core focus of the role will be around team management, financial management for the group as well as ensuring efficient and effective controls across the board. Naturally this role will provide key strategic influence in business decision making to the key stakeholders.
So who are you and what is your profile
At this level it is expected that you will have come from a role where you have played a key role in financial management and decision making. Naturally you will have the experience to lead people, manage teams and drive performance. As a Qualified Accountant and technically strong, your soft skills are vitally important and will be instrumental in building key relationships as well as influencing people across the group.
Ideally you will have come from the Hotels, Hospitality, Travel or the Tourism industry and will have a good understanding of where the finance function sits in a hotel and how it contributes to the wider business success. A solid understanding of revenue streams in hotels and key cost drivers in a food and beverage environment would naturally also be useful. Industry experience is not essential for this role however – it is more about getting the right person into the business.
