  • 10 to 15 years’ experience of managing the delivery of social work
  • Cultural sensitivity with experience working cross culturally. An awareness of issues surrounding the Treaty of Waitangi is essential.
  • Proficiency in Te Reo Maori is an advantage
Some More Information About The Role

The Amokura – Director of Services will be responsible for the leadership and management of the organisation’s social services delivery. As the Director of Services, you will provide strategic management and oversight of the whanau services provided and ensure full compliance with all systems, frameworks and contractual obligations with: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry for Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki, The New Zealand Police and other funding agencies.
The position follows established guidelines and procedures to be consistent with the organisations whanonga pono, and to work as part of the management team. This position requires frequent communication, a high degree of professionalism and the ability to deal effectively with people. The position is also required to travel extensively for work purposes.
  • Contract Management - Manage the fulfilment of all contractual outcomes for current and future social service contracts.
  • Networking/Collaboration - Represent and progress the Trust’s position and interests within established collaborative partnerships, both current and future.
  • People Management - Management of team leaders for delivery of services
Please note this role is only suitable for someone with permanent residency or NZ citizenship. Candidates also require a clean, full driver’s license and must pass a Police Vetting & MSD Check to comply with the Vulnerable Children Act.
