Some More Information About The Role
As an Assistant Manager, you’ll be working closely alongside the Partners on a diverse range of clients, tapping into their years of knowledge & experience while making sure the work you do for clients is top-notch.
Yes, compliance work will play a part of your role and with a team of Accountants reporting to you; your day to day will involve conducting reviews, managing client relationships and handling the higher level technical projects that will come through.
You’ll be exposed to a wide range of clients from day one, of all sizes and industries - so you could be jumping from a mum & dad business to listed companies. Additionally, they believe in fully utilising software for the benefit of clients. To keep you at the top of your game, you’ll receive regular training in all the changes to Xero and in NZ legislation.
With loads of potential for career growth, there will be opportunities for you to really develop your skills within advisory as your role will continually evolve to include more and more value adding services such as forecasting and financial analysis.
So Who Are You, And What Is Your Profile?
You will ideally be CA/CPA qualified or with an equivalent overseas qualification – you will need to have prior experience within a professional accounting firm, preferably from a medium sized environment or larger.
At the Assistant Manager level, you’ll be working very closely with Partners and clients so you need to be confident enough to hold your own and also know how to ask the right questions.
You could be a Senior Accountant currently looking for that opportunity to take a step up into Management. You could be someone in Practice right now with a family at home and absolutely sick of the long hours. This is great for you if you want to progress your career but also want to be able to have dinner at home on the weeknights.
