About the Role:

This role sits in the Data Technology team who are responsible for delivering tools and investment data to the organisation ensuring that the data can be trusted, well understood, and traceable. The team also creates and maintains high quality investment decision support tools. 

The core responsibilities of this role include:
  • Triage, prioritise and resolve operational events which service desk (Level 1 support) is unable to manage.
  • Proactively monitor for application issues and alert users.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on reported issues.
  •  Liaise with the IT Team to proactively resolve production support issues.
  • Continually improve operational performance and efficiency. This includes creation, maintenance and cataloguing of documentation, development of basic automation scripts, workarounds and minor bug fixes where appropriate.
  • Gather and analyse facts to determine critical issues and escalate / resolve as per the situation.
About You: 
  • Previous experience in a similar role, bonus points if you’ve worked in financial services / investment industries before
  • Basic understanding of API framework, software change management and scripting, e.g. Windows PowerShell, bash, csh, JavaScript
  • Understanding of database principles and experience with Transact-SQL or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative, work under pressure and maintain focus through proactive planning and an organised approach.
  • Strong customer (user) service focus, demonstrating ownership of tasks through to completion.
