About the Role
This is a critical operational leadership role at an early-scale stage. You will take ownership of inventory, logistics, global shipping and day-to-day operations as the business prepares to deliver commercial orders at volume and scale rapidly. You’ll provide structure, solve problems quickly, and support financial processes while working with manufacturing and logistics partners in China and at other touchpoints across multiple global time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies and procedures to improve efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness
- Identify areas for improvement in operational processes, workflows, and systems, and implement changes to enhance productivity
- Oversee end-to-end order management, from ERP entry to delivery and invoicing, ensuring accuracy across pricing, shipping and documentation
- Manage global logistics and 3PL relationships, managing SLAs, performance (including DIFOTIS), cost control and continuous improvement initiatives
- Own inventory planning and stock availability, converting sales forecasts into production alignment and maintaining optimal coverage levels
- Manage outbound and inbound logistics, including export documentation, shipment tracking, RMAs and reverse logistics processes
- Ensure ERP system integrity and inventory accuracy, coordinating stock counts, resolving discrepancies and maintaining real-time visibility for stakeholders
- Support budgeting, reporting and financial oversight, working closely with the NZ-based Accountant
- Provide calm, hands-on leadership across a lean, globally connected team.
- Proven senior operations experience within hardware or product-based businesses
- Strong logistics and supply chain management exposure, ideally with offshore manufacturing experience
- Experience with ERP transactions is essential (Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred)
- Financially competent, comfortable supporting budgeting and reporting processes
- Calm, pragmatic and resilient, steady under pressure and solutions-focused
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
- Confident working across multiple time zones, including UK and Asia
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats within a lean, scaling organisation.
