More About The Role

Based in their viaduct headquarters, this role supports a friendly, down to earth, switched-on and hard-working team of about 10 (wider finance team is more than double that) and is crucial to the ongoing development of the company. You will be working closely with this capable team supporting various aspects of transactional accounting but with a strong focus on Accounts Payable as they expand and have more and more invoices to pay! They have recently put in a document scanning system which will significantly reduce any data entry elements in the role so the more value-add you can bring the better. 

Tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Ensure GST is allocated correctly (not straightforward in this sector)
  • Set up accurate and timely payment batches for approval
  • Invoicing any on-charges
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Effective communication with area managers and admin staff - this is critical so verbal communication must be clear
  • Other ad-hoc support to finance team 

So Who Are You & What Is Your Profile? 

This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running with Accounts Payable processes. There will be training and support from the team but as this is a high volume business, we are requiring some experience in end-to-end AP already who needs minimum hand-holding.

An excellent phone manner and great communication skills are non-negotiable in order to liaise with other stakeholders within the business. Your Excel skills will be well-developed and ideally, you have exposure to accounting software such as MYOB. You are willing to learn, develop and grow with the business and be adaptable to your role changing as the business expands its operations and brings more work into this hub, however we are seeking someone who will remain focused in the AP space - this is not an Assistant Accountant role.

If attaining your CA is a top priority, this will not be the role for you but if you're a keen learner this support could be negotiated once you have proven yourself for a solid couple of years with the business and others move up.
